About Chxhealth

What is Chxhealth?

Chxhealth is a UK biomarker and genetic data provider. We offer biomarker blood test panels and genetic tests, with samples analysed by Randox, a UK laboratory accredited by UKAS. You receive a plain English report typically within 2 to 5 working days of the lab receiving your sample. Chxhealth does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Our service supports your wellbeing journey alongside your healthcare professional.

Who owns Chxhealth?

Chxhealth is owned and operated by Durham Genome Centre Ltd (Companies House #08951116), based at The Durham Genome Centre, Lanchester, County Durham, DH7 0EX.

Where is Chxhealth based?

Chxhealth is based in County Durham, England. Our clinic is at The Durham Genome Centre, Park House, Station Road, Lanchester, DH7 0EX. We also work with 50+ partner and pop-up clinics across the UK, so you can have your sample taken close to home.

Is Chxhealth a medical service?

No. Chxhealth is a biomarker and genetic data provider. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Our service supports your wellbeing journey alongside your healthcare professional. Any concerns about your health or your results should be discussed with a qualified clinician.

Choosing a test

Which Chxhealth test should I take?

Start with the test that best matches your goal. For general wellness, the Standard Screen or Basic Screen are good starting points. For specific concerns, pick a targeted panel such as Hormones, Biohacking, or Sports Performance. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help you pick.

How is the sample collected for a Chxhealth test?

Most Chxhealth panels require a venous blood draw at one of our clinics. You can choose our flagship clinic in Lanchester, County Durham, or one of our 50+ UK partner and pop-up clinics. A small number of standalone tests, such as the At Home PSA Test, are finger prick kits posted to you that you return to the lab yourself. Genetic tests are taken as a venous blood draw at one of our clinics, the same as blood panels.

What is a biomarker?

A biomarker is a measurable indicator of a biological state, usually a substance in your blood. Examples include cholesterol, glucose, vitamin D, testosterone, and thyroid hormones. Chxhealth panels measure between 5 and over 200 biomarkers depending on which test you choose.

Do you test for food sensitivities?

Yes. Our Food Sensitivity panel measures IgG antibody response to over 200 foods. This is not the same as a food allergy test (which measures IgE). It is an indicator of how your immune system responds to specific foods, which some people find useful when investigating digestive symptoms or dietary changes.

Do you offer GLP-1 or weight loss monitoring tests?

Yes. We offer dedicated panels for monitoring biomarkers before and during weight loss programmes, including Weight Loss Commencement and Weight Loss Monitoring. These check the markers most relevant to weight loss medications such as GLP-1 agonists, for example semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Booking and sample collection

How do I book my appointment?

After you order a panel, you will receive an email with a link to book your appointment with a professional phlebotomist. You can choose the Chxhealth clinic in Lanchester, County Durham, or one of our 50+ UK partner and pop-up clinics across the country. View all clinic locations.

Do I need to pay for the phlebotomist?

No. The phlebotomy fee is included in the price of every Chxhealth service. There are no hidden costs at the appointment.

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

It depends on the panel. Tests that include glucose, lipids (cholesterol), or insulin require a fast of 10 to 12 hours for accurate results. Your booking confirmation email will tell you exactly what is required for your specific test.

If I am on medication, do I need to stop before my appointment?

No, keep taking your medication as normal. However, some medications can affect specific markers. For example, blood thinners such as aspirin or warfarin may affect coagulation tests. If you are unsure, contact our team before booking and we can flag anything relevant to your panel.

Why do you ask for the biological sex of the person being tested?

Many laboratory tests have different reference ranges for biological males and females, for example hormone, iron, and haematology markers. Asking biological sex ensures we apply the correct reference ranges to your results.

What happens if I have difficulty bleeding or have small veins?

Our experienced phlebotomists are trained to handle difficult draws. They will work with you to find the best technique and to make sure you are comfortable. If you have had problems before, please mention it when you book so the team can prepare.

Can I book multiple panels for the same appointment?

Yes. Multiple panels can be drawn in a single visit, often from the same sample. When you arrive, the clinic team will confirm your appointments and coordinate the draw efficiently.

Do you test children or anyone under 18?

No. Chxhealth services are only available to people aged 18 and over.

Results and interpretation

How long do Chxhealth results take?

Turnaround depends on the panel. Most standard biomarker blood panels are delivered within 2 to 5 working days of the laboratory receiving your sample. Specialist and genetic panels take longer: Coeliac, Haemochromatosis and Lactose Intolerance genetic tests are typically around 8 working days; Microbiome Testing up to 5 weeks; and the larger genetic risk panels and Nutrition DNA can take up to 6 to 7 weeks. The exact turnaround for your specific panel is listed on its product page.

How will I receive my results?

You will receive your results as a plain English PDF report by email. The report shows each biomarker, your result, the reference range used by our lab partner, and a short explanation of what each marker measures.

What do I do if I have not received my results in the expected time?

Contact us by phone or email. Full details are on our Contact page. We will chase the lab and update you the same day where possible.

Will I get help understanding my results?

Every report comes with a plain English summary explaining what each marker means and where yours sits relative to the reference range used by our lab. Chxhealth is a biomarker and genetic data provider. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. For any concerns about your results, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional.

Can I share my Chxhealth results with my GP?

Yes. The PDF report is designed to be shareable. You can email or print it for your healthcare professional. Many of our customers find this useful for productive conversations about lifestyle, supplements, or follow up.

Can a Chxhealth blood test diagnose a condition?

No. Chxhealth is a biomarker and genetic data provider. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Your report shows where your results sit relative to the reference range, but only a qualified clinician can diagnose a condition. If a marker is outside the typical range, your report will flag it for follow up with a healthcare professional.

Accuracy, labs and methodology

How accurate are Chxhealth's tests?

Chxhealth samples are analysed by Randox, a UK laboratory accredited by UKAS to ISO 15189. The same accuracy standards and quality controls apply to every panel.

Which lab analyses Chxhealth samples?

Samples are analysed by Randox Laboratories, a diagnostic lab based in Northern Ireland and accredited by UKAS to ISO 15189. Randox is an established UK clinical laboratory used by private clinics and healthcare providers internationally.

What is UKAS accreditation and why does it matter?

UKAS is the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, the national body that assesses and accredits organisations against agreed standards. For medical laboratories, the relevant standard is ISO 15189, which covers quality and competence for medical testing. Choosing a lab accredited by UKAS means your results are produced to an internationally recognised quality standard.

Once your blood sample has been taken and sent off for processing, a refund is not possible because the lab work has already been completed. See our refund policy for full terms.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The price you see at checkout includes the phlebotomy appointment, lab analysis, and your results report. The phlebotomy fee is included in every Chxhealth service. Free UK shipping is included on at home kit deliveries.
