Diabetes Status Comprehensive diabetes assessment requires evaluation across multiple metabolic markers. This panel measures fasting glucose to establish current blood sugar levels, HbA1C to track average glycaemic control, insulin levels to assess pancreatic function and insulin resistance, and C-Peptide to evaluate endogenous insulin production. Together, these biomarkers distinguish between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, identify insulin resistance patterns, and reveal pancreatic beta-cell capacity. This integrated approach enables precise diagnosis, accurate risk stratification, and targeted intervention planning. Whether screening for undiagnosed diabetes or optimising management in established cases, these four measurements provide the clinical clarity needed to guide personalised treatment protocols and prevent progression to serious complications.

FAQs

Common questions.

How long do Diabetes Status results take?

Diabetes Status results are typically delivered within 2 working days of the laboratory receiving your sample. You receive a plain English PDF report covering HbA1c, glucose, insulin and related metabolic markers.

How is the sample collected for Diabetes Status?

The Diabetes Status panel requires a venous blood draw at a Chxhealth or partner clinic. The phlebotomy fee is included in the price. Choose our Lanchester clinic or one of our 50+ UK partner and pop-up clinics when you book.

Should I fast before the Diabetes Status panel?

Yes. Fasting glucose and insulin are part of the panel, so fast for 8 to 12 hours before the appointment, water only. HbA1c on its own does not require fasting but the rest of the panel does.

Who should consider the Diabetes Status panel?

The panel suits people with a family history of type 2 diabetes, central weight gain, raised blood pressure, PCOS, or anyone wanting an early read on insulin resistance and metabolic health. It is also useful for monitoring lifestyle changes.

Can this panel diagnose diabetes?

No. Chxhealth is a biomarker and genetic data provider. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. For medical advice, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional. Your report will show where your HbA1c and glucose values sit relative to the typical reference ranges used to categorise prediabetes and diabetes risk. Any out-of-range result should be discussed with your GP for diagnosis and clinical management.
